About the Festival
Paral·lel is a new music festival which will take place on its first edition during the summer of 2016 in Guardiola de Berguedà, province of Barcelona (Spain).
Paral·lel Festival is characterised by being located in a rural setting, in the vicinity of a Catalan farmhouse surrounded by nature. The large space offers distinct areas for performances, camping, rest, food and beverage services.
We the organisers reject the motto "the more the better", thus we believe in a limited capacity which allows us to care for the comfort of the audience and the intimate atmosphere of the festival.
Paral·lel Festival offers a musical selection which is largely based on the uniqueness and differentiation to other existing proposals. DJs of the international scene and the experimental/ambient/techno sound are intended to perform in a single stage for a whole weekend. Each performance will be closely linked to the previous and subsequent, achieving a continuum for the audience to feel and develop with their own senses.
An inspiring environment, an accurate musical selection and the comfort of our attendees are therefore the three central axes for the organisation team. We aim to offer a complete and different and fulfilling experience for music lovers based on our distinctive proposal.
Abdulla Rashim / Sweden
Submerged in both rhythm and mystery, Abdulla Rashim's shadowy aesthetic floats in balance with his uncompromising work. Wholly dedicated to his ideas and sound, Rashim's quest for renewal and the importance of his craft has reflected well both internationally and locally, where he is praised alike. A listening ear and pure emotion is what his rhythms demand and what keeps him on top of his mission.
Peter Van Hoesen / Belgium
Belgium's Peter Van Hoesen has never been that typical techno artist. Although considered as one of the genre's tastemakers he is someone who sculpts sounds for many different environments - The club, the home, the gallery or museum. He does so with a true sense of personality.
Shifted / UK
Shifted began to take form in this realm of new possibility, an anonymous figure allowing shape amidst a new-found blank slate of sound. As much as this tabula rasa was cultivating a profound dexterity within the genres of techno, inherent know-how inevitably surfaced as nature does usually so influence nurture, and Brewer's compositional command came back to positively haunt him in no time.
Cio D'Or / Germany
Her music arise from an idea, which she develops and threads through her own sounds: Emotional, extravagant, charismatic, cinematic, sometimes poetic. Her music strives towards "infinity" between origin and development. Here, timeless possibilities sounding out from the zeitgeist.
Eric Cloutier / USA
Now making music as considered and carefully crafted as his DJ sets, Eric Cloutier has long been an influential selector. Though he recently started releasing his own music, it’s fair to say that Eric Cloutier has established himself as an influential underground figure purely off the back of his DJ sets.
Mohlao / Netherlands
Samuel van Dijk has been releasing electronic music under a variety of monikers namely Mohlao, VC-118A and Multicast Dynamics. His productions and live gigs present a characteristic and immersive sound for clubs and home-listening. His styles are somewhere between deep techno, otherworldly electro and abstract experimental soundscapes.
Svreca / Spain
Sveca is Spanish techno's most recent celebrated son. As a DJ, producer and label boss he constantly updates his vision for the game, and it is one where no compromises are made and the focus firmly on getting into your mind rather than your body.
Refracted / Spain
Deep rhythms and atmospheric elements have always played a major role in Refracted's music. Be it throught hypnotic grooves or mesmerising soundscapes, the journey is always assured.
Arovane / Germany
Arovane's work hearkens back to the insular melodic electro of early Autechre, combining interesting, highly syncopated machine box rhythms with warm, delicate synth textures that evoke a gauzy, somewhat nostalgic mood contrasted by the sharpness of the rhythms.
Natural/electronic.system / Italy
Natural Electronic System have always played a major role in Refracted's music. Be it throught hypnotic grooves or mesmerising soundscapes, the journey is always assured.
Cyspe / Netherlands
Cyspe paints electronic, deep atmospheres inspired by nature, cybernetics and architecture. Enveloping the listener in a fabric of sound that emerges out of spatial synthesized geometries, dense field recordings and organic resonance. Vibrations from the spaces in between.
Tozzi / Italy
The young Italian producer Luigi Tozzi was strongly influenced by the roman scene and its local artists, many of whom gave a crucial contribution to the birth and growth of the deep techno sound. Melting the tribal and hypnotic elements of techno with the atmospheric and emotional side of ambient music he is making his own path in the world of electronics.
Jamie Mc Cue/ Canada
The sounds of Jamie McCue grew out of the connection between deep ethereal music and the rain forests of Vancouver Island. A soundtrack to some of the most radiant and aural beauty in the world. Jamie is known for his ability to build long sets, allowing the music to become a journey and unfold slowly.
.P (Anders Peterson) is a sound designer, composer and audio postproduction engineer, who also runs a small label imprint called Ghost Sounds, and records music under a couple of aliases such as relapxych.0 and Skyscaper.
Samuel M/ Spain
Samuel M. (La Comunidäd) is 50% of No Parfum, a band that moves between the darkest ambient, experimentation and abstract techno. He has published in Ballistic Records and his latest work was a remix for the debut of the madrilenian artist Irayu, sharing an E.P with Acronym (Northern Electronics) at the label Soul Notes.
Influenced by ambient electronics and chromaticism, Guillam pursues depth through the exploration of sound and composition. Unfolding rhythms, soothing soundscapes and organic textures are elements present in his music and sets.
